High Holiday Music for Reflection and Renewal

The High Holidays invite us into a season of reflection, return, and renewal. As we move through the Days of Awe, music has the power to guide our hearts, open our spirits, and connect us to tradition in fresh and meaningful ways.

This year, we are thrilled that our High Holiday music programs will be led by two extraordinary vocalists this year—Marni Loffman and Mayta Cohen—artists who are reshaping the sound of Jewish music with their creativity, spirit, and heart.

We are excited to welcome Marni back to our community once again, and equally overjoyed to welcome Mayta for her very first year with us. Both have recorded special video messages just for our community—we encourage you to take a few minutes to watch, listen, and be inspired by their words.

Awaken with Marni Loffman

Marni Loffman, a singer-songwriter and ritual leader, brings depth and creativity to Jewish spiritual music. Their newest release, “Awaken (Ashamnu),” is a soulful reimagining of the High Holiday confessional prayer. With stirring vocals and intentional layering, the song invites listeners not only to acknowledge where we’ve fallen short, but to wake up to possibility, healing, and transformation.

🎧 Listen to “Awaken (Ashamnu)” and let Marni’s music prepare you for this season of renewal.

High Holiday Music with Mayta Cohen

We are delighted to introduce Mayta Cohen, a groundbreaking Jewish musician, arranger, and vocalist from Boston. Mayta is known for pushing boundaries in Jewish a cappella and harmony, becoming the first female arranger for both The Maccabeats and Six13. She also founded the national award-winning group BerKalit at Berklee College of Music, blending her artistry with deep Jewish roots.

Mayta’s arrangements and compositions have been celebrated by ASMAC, Varsity Vocals, The American Conference of Cantors, and Jewish Rock Radio. She has song-led at BBYO’s International Convention, served as the youngest-ever artist-in-residence at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, MI, and is a faculty member at both A Cappella Academy and Hava Nashira, the premiere Jewish songleading conference.

Her mission is clear: to weave faith, harmony, and community together through music.
