Make Your Own Afikoman Bag
There’s nothing worse than a hidden Afikoman disintegrating into a pile of matzah crumbs. Keep your matzah contained with a DIY Afikoman Bay! We love making these each year with the kids—partly because we tend to lose our Afikoman bags most years (or perhaps they are just really well hidden!). It’s also a fantastic way to add extra meaning to the holiday while keeping if fun and engaging for everyone in your house.
Seriously though, good luck with the matzah crumbs!
Materials:
- Craft Felt sheets
- Hole punch
- String or yarn
- Crafting needle
- Fabric paint or markers
Instructions:
- Fold a piece of craft felt in half.
- Punch holes along the open edges.
- Use the needle and yarn to sew up the sides, creating a pocket.
- Secure the ends to finish the bag.
- Decorate to your hearts content with fabric paint of markers.
For a matzah bag, repeat the process with two pieces of felt: line them up so all the corners match, punch holes around three sides and sew them together.
Enjoy your creative and functional Afikoman bags, and may your matzah stay intact.
