Passover is a time for reflection, gratitude, and of course, plenty of matzah. This year, add a creative and meaningful touch to your Seder with DIY Matzah Decorations! This simple craft is perfect for all ages and offers a beautiful way to highlight the theme of freedom while adding a festive element to your home.
Materials Needed:
- Paper
- Pencil
- Unwrapped brown crayon
- Hole punch
- String
- Scissors (optional)
Instructions:
- Cut the paper into squares or any desired size for bunting.
- Lightly run the crayon over the paper to create a matzah-like texture.
- Punch holes along the top of each piece for stringing.
- On each “piece of matzah,” write down one freedom you are grateful for.
- String them together to create a “Garland of Freedoms.”
- Hang your garland in a prominent place to inspire meaningful discussions during your Seder.
This project is a wonderful way to engage family and friends in the deeper meaning of Passover. If you can’t join us at NTHC on Saturday, April 12th or at TBY Sunday, April 13th (there’s still time to register on their websites!), consider adding this simple yet powerful tradition to your Passover preparations. Chag Sameach!
