Renew.Join us for the Elul Camping Retreat\, a beloved tradition for our three congregations—Temple Or Rishon and the Tahoe Jewish Community. Held from Friday\, August 28 to Sunday\, August 30\, 2026\, this Camping Shabbaton invites both seasoned campers and first-timers to unplug from daily routines and immerse in Shabbat\, nature\, community\, and spiritual preparation for the High Holy Days. \nSet amidst the beauty of Northern California\, this Elul retreat offers a special opportunity to gather around the campfire\, sing under the stars\, explore Jewish learning\, and strengthen the TOR/Tahoe community. \n\nRetreat Location & Accessibility\nOur group tent-only site is less than 2 hours and 15 minutes from each of our three congregations. The campsite is nestled in nature but easily reachable\, making it ideal for families\, individuals\, and friends seeking a meaningful weekend away. \n\nRetreat Schedule\n\n\nArrival: Friday\, August 28 (late afternoon) \n\n\nDeparture: Sunday\, August 30 (before lunch) \n\n\nOptional early arrival on Thursday or earlier Friday—contact your Rabbi for details. \n\n\n\nRetreat Pricing\n\n\n1st person – $90 \n\n\n2nd person – $90 \n\n\n3rd person – $75 \n\n\nFamilies of 4 or more – $275 flat rateSpace is limited to 125 participants—please register early to reserve your spot! \n\n\n\nNote: Tent camping only.
